Detective Short Stories - 2 issues

Detective Short Stories - April 1941
Detective Short Stories - September 1941

April 1941 : Cover looks to be by J.W. Scott, and stories by hard-boiled authors like W.T. Ballard, Roger Torrey and Dale Clark. Nice combination
September 1941 : This issue has a story by Anthony Boucher, marking his first appearance in the crime pulps. He would go on to write for Black Mask, but is of course much better known as a crime critic, mystery author and founder of Fantasy and Science Fiction

Pulp Deals - What this site is about

From time to time, I come across cool pulps for sale, that for one reason or another don't fit into my collection. Maybe it's a duplicate, maybe it's something i don't collect. I thought you'd like to see and maybe even buy them. If you do buy them, I sometimes get a small commission. Know a cool pulp I'm missing? Leave a comment in a post or drop me a message at pulpflakes+deals AT gmail DOT com (Don't forget to replace AT with @ and DOT with .)

Triple-X magazine July 1929

For a pulp that lasted more than a hundred issues, copies of Triple-X are surprisingly hard to find. The Triple-X stood for air, war and west stories, and in this issue you get all 3 in one story and one cover - a cowboy fighting a German aviator in the sky. Click photo for details/to buy.

St. Nicholas - October 1930
